Animal Gides--Whose Trying to Tell You Something?
Mood:  a-ok
Topic: Essay

I saw a lovely, bright and beautiful woodpecker this morning!  He was jumping from branch to branch happy and excited to be alive, but doing so with purpose, in total expectation.  Now, I hear woodpeckers but don't see them often and I knew he was there to tell me something.  For me, experiences with animals as Guides and Teachers are always full of love and wisdom. This meeting of mine sparked the idea for the following...

Knowing an Animal Guide is attempting to relay a message is much like knowing when ANY message is being broadcast.  When they come to you as a messenger the situation is unusual, marked by a feeling of splendor and...well...you just know they are there for a purpose.  When an animal shows up in your life to give their 'medicine' (message, teaching, knowledge) how do you know what they are trying to tell you?  First, mentally (you can add a verbal 'thanks' too if you desire) acknowledge and thank the animal for their gift to you.  This shows you appreciate they are a Universal messenger and it opens you up to the communication.  Then, watch very carefully what the animal is doing.  Take note of their actions and the feelings those actions garner within you.  Next, understand where the message they are transmitting fits into the landscape of your life.  They could be there telling you what path to take, what decision to make or what NOT to do.  Take it all in and use your powers of intution to decipher the message.

If you need a little help, the book "Animal Speak" by Ted Andrews is an invaluable resource.  There are also websites on Animal Totems that can be explored.  The combination of these, along with your own understanding of the moment, will give you a full picture of the guidance being given.

Remember we are all (humans, animals, plants, etc) parts of the same energetic whole.  The more you give, the more you will receive.  Practice this Universal law and true guidance will find you.  Allow it to be so...

The Top Ten Reasons Why Animals are Smarter Than Humans
Mood:  on fire
Topic: Lists

Good afternoon friends!

As those of you who know me are aware, I am quite the animal welfare kind of gal.  It's a large part of my Spiritual path to abstain from meat (a pact between myself and the Universe I honor and take very seriously) and I have always found myself an empathizer of every species under the sun.  My thoughts have always been that animals embody what we humans are trying to achieve; that somehow, they are 'closer to God'.  Well, with this little list, I go so far as to say...animals are smarter too!  See if you don't agree with me.

Animals are smarter than humans because...

10. They follow their instincts.

9. They only kill another being for the purposes of survival.

8. They waste nothing and are kind to their environment.

7. They don't care about money or commerce.

6. They don't give a damn about appearances.

5.  They bear every burden humans put upon them without complaint, without developing a 'victim' complex and often with grace.

4.  They love without conditions.

3.  They are not afraid of change or death.

2.  They live up to their responsibilities.

1.  They have never, and will never, start a war.

Until next week....

A quickie regarding signs...
Mood:  rushed
Topic: Essay

Hello friends~

I don't have much time today, but I wanted to make sure I continued our discussion about signs from the Universe.

Next up on the agenda was discussing how to act on the information we are given from the realm of Spirit.  Make no mistake about this, it takes a great deal of trust, not only in your Guides and the synchronicities themselves, but also in yourself and your ability to interpret their meanings.  What is the only thing that can get in the way of our seeing, understading and following heaven-sent advice?

FEAR

Yes, fear.  We may consider it an ugly word but in all fairness, fear and how (or if) we overcome it is what proves our own strength and fortitude to ourselves.  Being scared is necessary for our growth.  Learn to embrace fear and diffuse its power.  Don't strive to be fearless because being afraid is a benchmark of the human condition.  Instead, act in courage and jump off the cliff of the unknowing.  The Universe always rewards such acts of pure bravery.

This reminds me of something my nephew Danny once told my sister (his mom).  You see, Danny and I are VERY MUCH alike I am proud to say, and we share the element of fire in our birth signs.  This led him to conclude the following:  "Me and aunt Mol, we're fire signs, we jump off the cliff before we look to see what's at the bottom!"   Wise kid.  He also replied, when asked what or who God was: "God is  butterfly with rainbow wings."  See why I say I am proud to be like him?  Laughing

So when you receive Universal communication, challenge yourself to to leap without checking to see where you are going to land.  You may end up in a whole new world!

Love and Light,

Molly

All We See in Life are Signs
Mood:  lyrical
Topic: Essay

"Everyone's a star that shines...All we see in life are signs"

- Lyrics from the song:  White Water Siren.  The album:  The Interzone Mantras by The Tea Party. Copyright 2001.

The Universe is bombarding us with guidance.  Surprised  (that 'oh' face just seemed appropriate, not sure why)  Everywhere we turn we are faced with some happening that is screaming "LOOK AT ME!! I AM TRYING TO TELL YOU SOMETHING!! PAY ATTENTION!!"  There are times when these messages will be strong and simple to decipher.  I got kicked entirely across the country by a few of them!  In that instance, the path I should take was clear as crystal and I followed it without hesitation because there was no mistaking the Divine Wisdom behind the events taking place in my life.  Sometimes, though, these Spiritual 'suggestions' are subtle.  Angels conspire quietly and slide soft messages into our everyday life.  This may be why we  often feel lost and without direction; we are unable to recognize or assimilate such messages so we assume they aren't being given.

Trust me when I say this stuff is easier than you think!! All we must do is remain open and trust the guidance we are receiving.  In other words, look at situations and events and call them by their right name.  If we continually say 'Oh, that's just a coincidence' then we won't accept Divine messages and we will feel like some balloon in the wind, unknowing of where we are going to land.  I am not saying there are NEVER coincidences; there are and we should all be well aware of this so we don't go running off on some tangent and render ourselves Spiritually counterproductive.  But for instance, if you get a repeating pattern of words, concepts, feelings, symbols and they are all pointing you in the same direction you are doing yourself a disservice by ignoring that information.  These are miracles;  MIRACLES, my friends.  They are happening all around us and we do not want to lose them to our rigidity or disbelief.

How to recognize Divine guidance in our life:

  • Synchronicities will always come in patterns (one idea or happening corresponding to another idea or happening connecting to yet another, and so on).
  • The messages find us without our seeking them out.
  • There is a 'light shining on the moment' when we are receiving a message of this sort.  The best comparison is the 'Deja Vu' feeling, but that is a rather limiting concept.  Trust your inner knowing.
  • Things start making sense.
  • You feel excited when something emerges.

There are other avenues of recognition and each person will receive information differently.  Just keep your mind and heart open and let Your Spirit Helpers know you are ready to be guided.

Okay, let's say you are receiving messages and you accept them.  You know for sure that's what they are and you are just damn excited that this is happening to you!  So what do you do next?  How do you interpret this guidance?  How do you act on it?  Well, friends, these questions will have to wait until next week because I'm all blogged out!

Wishing you all love and limitless light!

Molly

Time

by Dick Sutphen

"The greatest resource you have is time -- you either spend time or you waste it.  Spending time means using it constructively, profitably and ideally in a way that is fulfilling to you.  Spending time might be working toward your success, a dinner with good friends or sitting and doing nothing.  Wasted time is any time spent with people you don't enjoy.  Time spent doing busywork without benefit is also wasted.

Time is the most precious thing you have.  When you allow people to waste your time you let them steal your life.  We all have the same 1,440 minutes per day, but this time is lost forever unless you invest it in your future -- by acquiring knowledge, learning skills, making business contacts or enhancing your personal life.

You don't have to respond to the demands of others.  Only your value judgements keep you spending your time the way you want.  How you decide to spend time had everything to do with the quality of your life and the level of success you can expect to attain.  Meditate upon any changes in the way you spend your time that would serve you."  From The Oracle Within by Dick Sutphen (c.1991)

Molly's comments on time:

I have the utmost respect for the writings and wisdom of Mr Sutphen, however, I have a vastly different outlook on this subject, and of course i'm going to share it!  Laughing

We as Spiritual beings having a human experience possess a devastating view of time.  Devastating because we see the ticking of the clock as limited; 24 hours in a day, 365 days in a year, 80 years in a lifetime if we are one of the lucky ones.  We foster the fear that we can 'waste' time (in some instances maybe it could be better spent, but is it really wasted?) and as a result, sicken ourselves with overwork, overplay or inertia. The assumption of the accuracy of human timekeeping stunts our potential and leads to restricted thinking and living.

Let's all think about this for a minute and ask the question: does time as we know it truly exist?  By 'time as we know it' I mean our days, clocks, calendars and every other method we use to measure it.  In the interest of science (not really, but doesn't that sound very official? Laughing) I strode over to dictionary.com to find one general statement to define time.  Here was the first entry:

'the system of those sequential relations that any event has to any other, as past, present, or future; indefinite and continuous duration regarded as that in which events succeed one another.'

Well, first I said 'huh?' because it's early (that supposed time thing again) and I am still drinking my coffee!  When I read the definition again though, and to my surprise, it said nothing about timepieces or regulatory measurements of days, weeks and years (other entries did, but not this one).  It talked about time as the relation of events to eachother in past, present and future, and used the words 'indefinite and continuous'.  Hmmmm...well, at least some scribe writing for dictionary.com has the idea!

But wait, with this new confirmation of non-limitation the question becomes: if time is 'indefinite & continuous', why are we so worried about not having enough of it?  Why do schedules drive our lives?  Why do we insist on seeing stifling increments rather than total limitlessness?  The answer (well, my answer, please feel free to come up with your own):  because that is what we are taught; to live by a schedule, to view death as the great thief of time and to relegate ourselves to something man designed to fulfill his need for structure.  All I can conclude is that 'time as we know it' is one, grand illusion.  Besides, dictionary.com says so!

Now, am I suggesting that everyone toss out their alarm clocks and Timex watches?  No.  In doing so, we would be denying an integral part of our human experience.  But why not, just for a bit, live without time? Put your clocks out of sight, turn off the tv and just be in the proverbial 'moment'.  What you will find is a taste of the limitlessness that is your Divine Self.  Take this feeling back into the world of measured 'reality' and utilize it to relax and relieve the pressure of mantras like 'I just don't have enough time'.  Know this, you have more time than you could ever possibly expend.  It is infinite.

Thanks for taking the time (ah the irony, lol) to read my thoughts and I welcome any comments on this subject!  Please contact me through the email link below with any suggestions of topics you would like to see discussed here.  Everything contained in this blog will be something I have read, heard and learned, supplemented by my own thoughts on the topic.  It is not to be taken as absolute truth, just my own truth based on the knowledge I have attained.

I wish you great joy and many blessings!
